On February 17, OnePlus launched its OnePlus Y1S series of TVs. The TVs are available in Y1S and Y1S Edge variants and are a step up from the mid-range Y1 TV series.
The company mentioned that it wishes to provide its customers with a seamlessly connected ecosystem that will enhance their TV viewing experience. It hopes that its smart TVs will enable audiences to have a more immersive experience without compromising on quality.
The OnePlus Y1S and the OnePlus Y1S Edge TVs are nearly bezel-less and appear sleek and polished. The bottom bezel has a metallic coating which adds to its glamorous looks. Overall, it appears minimalistic and elegant. While Android TVs have never really wowed us with their looks and design, the Y1s series just might change our minds.
The OnePlus Y1S Edge TV is available in 32-inch and 43-inch panels.

The OnePlus Y1S Edge Tv is powered by the MediaTek 9216 chipset and its sleek look elevates the space it is in.
The 32-inch model of the OnePlus Y1S Edge TV has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and is HD ready while the 43-inch model has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and is FHD. The brightness is around 250 nits. It has the TÜV Rheinland Certification for safety and quality, and has managed to bag the low blue light certification which will reduce eye fatigue. The Edge Tv comes with inbuilt support for HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, which means it can play HDR content when required.
Both TVs are equipped with an LED backlit LCD panel with a refresh rate of 60Hz.
The OnePlus Y1S Edge TV is completely made of plastic but does not look like it. Its stands are also plastic and hold up the TV well. The top, left and right edges are nearly bezel-less but the bottom edge is slightly thicker and has a metallic finish.
It also has Chromecast built in and has dedicated buttons on the remote control for Disney, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. The TV also supports Miracast and DLNA.
The TV also has two downward-facing speakers that are supported by Dolby Audio. The speakers provide clear sound and deliver an output of 24W.
The OnePlus TV is runs on Android TV 11 and has Dolby Audio support.
On the right hand side, there is a power port. The left-hand side houses two USB 2.0 ports, two HDMI ports, one RF port, one AV port, one Ethernet port, and one Optical cable port.
The OnePlus Y1S Edge TV supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual band WiFi.
It is powered by the OxygenPlay 2.0 based on Android 11, which is useful in browsing everything from music to movies. It is available on all OnePlus TVs and works better than the Android OS in aiding search queries.
If you own a OnePlus smartphone, the cross-device integration will make you feel right at home in the OnePlus ecosystem. The OnePlus Watch is another accessory that will help you control your TV time. When you enable the sleep tracking feature, the TV will be switched off if it has been connected to the TV. The app does not require WiFi or data connection to connect to the TV.
In the Settings tab, the Kids mode allows you to restrict the use of certain apps and set a timer. Once the timer goes off, it will ask for the secret PIN to continue.
The Voice assistant is pretty responsive and helps with search commands.
The OnePlus Y1S Edge has a quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. The storage is shared between the apps and the OS. Out of the 8GB of storage, only 3GB is available for apps and games.
