A budget shopper couldn't believe her luck when she stumbled upon an on-trend glass lamp from Kmart inspired by a popular designer buy.

'I'm absolutely in love with the new glass lamp from Kmart,' Carley, from Western Australia, said after spotting the Amelie table lamp ($35) while browsing the budget store.

The lamp has a close resemblance to Italian Murano designs. with one woman saying she received a similar glass lamp for her 21st birthday almost 40 years ago. 

A budget shopper with a keen eye for style was proud to showcase her latest find - an on-trend $35 glass lamp from Kmart which is presently sold out online 

She said that the lamp is original Italian Murano glass and was ecstatic that the style was back in fashion.

Murano glass is colourful glassware made in Venice with a soda–lime metal and is typically elaborately decorated, with various glass-forming techniques, as well as gilding, enamel, or engraving.

'This is such a treasure,' said Carley about the pink lamp. 'What a beautiful and special lamp - truly an amazing gift from your dad.'

Hundreds were in awe of the unique lamp, but one woman found that she received a near-identical glass lamp for her twenty-first birthday almost forty years ago

A vintage retailer valued the pink lamp at $600 - more if the original 'Made in Italy' sticker was still intact.

She also revealed the true inspiration behind Kmart's iconic lamp.

'Kmart is trying to replicate the original Murano glass mushroom lamp with their Amelie table lamp,' she said as she shared a picture of one of them.

But many seemed to prefer Kmart's version - and couldn't wait to get their hands on a piece.

'While I hope to one day own an original Murano - Kmart's is beautiful as well,' wrote one woman.

'This is gorgeous, it's not a want but a need!'

'So beautiful and it is styled so well, too,' wrote a third.
